To make it clear what each option means...
Recycle the old one means I should use the world map I already have and don't add anything to it.
Recycle the old one and add new means I should use the world map I already have and place new areas around.
Recycle the old one, add new, and rearrange things means I should use the world map I have, but move old areas around
The combination of the two is obvious
Create a new one from scratch means that I shouldn't use much if any of the old map
The 'spacefaring' option means that I should set the new game in space and have the different 'towns' actually be different worlds. A fusion of the worlds may or may not happen in this option.

My suggestion is to go back to the old Omniterra idea we once new, but use different areas this time.
Instead of Hyrule, Mushroom, Dream Land, Nonomer, we have:
Kanto (+ Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh as sub regions) Ceres Station (acting as a port to Zebes, Tallon IV, etc) Saturn Valley (again, acting as a port to Nowhere Islands and Eagleland) Port Town (FALCOWN PAUUUUUUNCH!)

I'm all for a Spacefaring one or a Sliders-style plot where each world is actually visitable through some sort of gate (say, Dooragon gets upgraded). This allows for more expansion, allows non-Main-GMs to add new worlds as needed, and drop them as they become unnecessary. It saves the foxxy from making an actual map, and just lets him add worlds he needs and cut off ones he doesn't.

That would be extremely convenient!
I feel bad about not getting to finish my Metroid mission ;-;
I'll need to come up with something new...hm...and also try not to let games I'm currently into be an influence XDD
