Every player character currently introduced into the game (As of Oct 31, 2007) receives the following one-use item.
Jack-O-Lantern Bucket
A plastic bucket shaped like a grinning, goofy Jack-O-Lantern that is often seen carried around by young trick-or-treaters. Peering into the top of the bucket, one would see a dark void, instead of the insides of the bucket. Oh, to be young again, and call out Trick-or-Treat!... Only one Jack-O-Lantern Bucket can be used per round.
This item uses either 0 or 1 Act, depending on the enemy's decision. To activate its effect, select one enemy on the field and call out "Trick or Treat!" The enemy then decides the fate of the bucket by answering the question! They can't resist answering, but they can't answer both.
If the enemy declares "Treat!" the bucket smiles and out of the dark void comes a random piece of candy (roll d5), which can be eaten at your leisure for 1 Act. The act of generating the candy causes the bucket to slowly fade away, and uses 0 Act itself.
1. Creamy Way: A delicious mixture of nougat, chocolate, and caramel in a small brown wrapper! Eating this treat restores 25% of your Max MP. Also, the next offensive spell you cast has its spell power doubled, prior to applying equipment and Spwr Bonus boosts. If another effect has a multiplier greater than 1 applied to Spell Power, increase its multiplier by 1, instead of multiplying them together.
2. Chuckles: Like a Creamy Way, without the nougat, but with nuts, wrapped in a dark plastic wrapper! Eating this restores 25% of your Max HP. Additionally, your weapon's damage is doubled for its next hit, but this doubling has no effect on other attributes (such as AP Chance). This is applied before equipment and ability boosts. If a technique has a multiplier greater than 1 that applies to the weapon's damage, increase it by 1 instead of multiplying them together.
3. Crimson Ropes: Red, chewy candy shaped like a string! When it comes out of the bucket, its seemingly endless! Roll d4, and then d100 until you roll higher than 50. This determines the length of the rope! Whoever eats it regains 18% of their Max HP and Max MP, and an extra amount of healing equal to (2*(d4)*(Number of d100's rolled))%. If either HP or MP is fully healed (or full to begin with), any excess is restored to the other at a rate of 3 to 1 (meaning 3 HP that would have been healed becomes 1 MP or 3 MP that would have been healed becomes 1 HP).
4. Munch Bar: Chocolate bar with rice crispies inside, contained in a blue wrapper! MUNCH! Eating this hard chocolate makes you understand the power of hard crispies, gaining +10 to both Defense and Special Defense and a temporary armor bonus and special armor bonus equal to their Defense and Special Defense bonuses (after the increase) for 2 rounds.
5. Corned Candy: Orange, yellow, and white chewy candy that tastes like pure sugar! Whoever consumes these little bits of Corned Candy gains +2 Act (even past their maximum) and Eternal Mana that lasts until the end of the current turn. At the end of the turn, the person who ate the Corned Candy loses 2 Act, but can't fall below 0 Act, so make that bonus Act count!
If the enemy declares "Trick!", you pay 1 Act, and roll a d5 to determine just what Trick erupts from the void in the bucket! The bucket cackles maniacally, and its eyes flash as its malice is unleashed upon those who would deny you candy! Like with Treat, the bucket slowly fades after this effect occurs.
1. Zombie Hand: An evil looking hand leaps out of the bucket! Scary! It grabs the enemy's face (or similar features), scaring them (causes Fear status). If the target is immune to Fear, they instead take DARK damage (ignores resist, null, and absorb, but not weakness) equal to their own Power or SpwrI stat, whichever is higher. Half their related defense stat is applied.
2. Cobwebs: A mess of cobwebs erupts from the bucket, entangling the enemy. The victim is paralyzed until they can pass a Power Check versus your own Power or SpwrI, whichever is higher. This check is made at the end of every turn. Each failed attempt increases their Power by 5 when making this check only, stacking.
3. Toilet Paper Roll: A wonderous roll of toilet paper floats out of the bucket and begins to unravel! Humiliate your foes by turning them into a mummy! The toilet paper rapidly hardens, Petrifying the victim who declared "Trick!" for 1 round. If they are immune to Petrify, they instead take EARTH damage (ignores resist, null, and absorb, but not weakness) equal to their own Power or SpwrI stat, whichever is higher. Half their related defense stat is applied.
4. Egg Crate: A half dozen eggs, and your enemy didn't give you candy! Ready, Aim, fire! Strikes up to 6 times using your Accuracy stat for Accuracy and Power stat or SpwrI stat (whichever is higher) for Base. If Power Stat is used, each egg deals 6 PIERCE damage, with a 60% AP chance. If SpwrI Stat is used, each Egg deals SpwrI Bonus magical PIERCE damage and ignores up to 2*SpwrI Bonus Armor. Total damage is halved after applying defense (or Special Defense), armor (or Special Armor), status effects, etc.
5. Haunting Music: A loud, devious-sounding melody plays from the bucket, drowning out your foes and preventing them from casting spells! All enemies on the field are silenced for 1 round, and their remaining MP is halved. "King Ramses! The man in gauze, the man in gauze!" is the theme that plays o.o;;
